Adams-Onis Treaty also known as the Transcontinental Treaty or Florida Purchase Treaty or just the Florida Treaty, was a treaty between the United States and Spain. The treaty was made in 1819 and it defined the boundary between the U. S and New Spain. This settled the long standing border dispute between the two countries.
