Who were the scottsboro boys? how did they get into so much trouble?

They were a group of African American teenage boys accused of raping two white women getting off a train in 1931 in the south. The case was very controversial causing many to believe a huge mistake of justice was caused and many families were caused to suffer and fear instilled into people that never needed to be.
