Central America, in general terms, was greatly influenced by the Native American, European and African cultures.

In pre-Columbian times, the native peoples of Central America were the Mayans, Lencas, Pipiles, Kunas, among many others. These cultures didn't disappear with the arrival of the Spaniards, instead, they still exist and maintain their languages and customs and, also, they have mixed with the Europeans. During the times of the colonies, Spaniards brought a big amount of African people as slaves to work in the plantations of Central American colonies. After the independence, there were also many immigrants that fled from Europe to these countries. As a result of this, all of these cultures have mixed, to a greater or lesser extent in each country, giving place to a blended and multicultural society.
