Divine right or the theory of divine right is a political and religious doctrine that is related to political legitimacy.
Explanation:
This theory consists of opinions that the king has all the rights as a man but also as a God. This theory was developed in the medieval period between popes and emperors.
As emperors considered they were God representatives, they didn't want to recognize the rule of popes.
