    The answer is letter d. England borrowed and the United States received leases on Bermuda and elsewhere. This was under the Lend-Lease Act where they lent England the supplies and resources they needed to continue their effort to oppose Germany. Eventually the U. S. entered the war on the side of the Allies and won.
