    Answer: The French and Indian War was the North American clash in a bigger royal war between Great Britain and France known as the Seven Years' War. The French and Indian War started in 1754 and finished with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The war gave Great Britain gigantic regional gains in North America, yet disagreements regarding consequent wilderness arrangement and paying the war's costs prompted frontier discontent, and eventually to the American Revolution.
