The correct answers are A) The judicial branch can rule a new law unconstitutional and D) The legislative branch can override a veto.

The following are examples of checks and balances: The judicial branch can rule a new law unconstitutional and the legislative branch can override a veto. One of the best decisions the founding fathers could make was the separation of powers in the federal government. This created a system of checks and balances that has benefited the United States Government since its conception.

In the case of this question, the judicial branch can rule a new law unconstitutional when it considers so, and the legislative branch can override a Presidential veto with a 2/3 veto in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

I believe it is D but I could be wrong ...

since the legislative branch consists of the US congress, and the congress can override a veto by passing the act by a two-thirds vote in both the Senate and the House.
