Why did President Wilson ask for a declaration of neutrality?

    President Wilson had asked a Declaration of Neutrality because he believed that is the best interest of the US that they do not interfere between Germany and Great Britain. He also believed that many of his people in the US have strong ties from the European Nations considering that many of the people in the US are migrants from various countries in Europe
