    Explanation: The primary goal of the Populists party was to displace the Democrats and become America's second political party. To achieve this, the populist party formed a strong alliance of the industrial workers of the East with the farmers of the West and South.

    Other goals of the populist party includes the call for coinage of silver for free and subtreasury scheme, non-ownership of land by foreigners, for the dissolution of national banks, for government to own all forms of transport and communication, for Senators to be voted directly by the people, review and reformation of immigration regulations, eight working hours a day and revision of the law of contracts.
