    "For the Equal Rights Amendment" is a speech given by Shirley Chisholm on August 10, 1970. Chisholm was the first African American woman elected to Congress in 1968 and the first African American woman to run for president in 1972.

    The speech was an attempt to get an amendment passed that would end all discrimination, particularly that towards women and ethnic minorities.
