The Korean War started in 1950, when communist north Korean forces, backed by the Soviet Union and China, invaded the capitalist part of Korea, the south. The war lasted until 1953, when an armistice was signed by the two Koreas. The Peninsula was divided into North Korea (communist) and South Korea (capitalist). Therefore the last option is the right answer, The division of the Korean peninsula remained unchanged.

The correct answer is - The division of the Korean Peninsula remained unchanged.

The Korean War was a war heavily sponsored by the big forces, the United States and the Soviet Union because of their interests. The United States sponsored and supported the south, while the Soviet Union sponsored and supported the north. It was a war between people that were same, but their political leaders had different things in mind. The Korean Peninsula was divided at the the 38 parallel, and so it remained for the years to come.
