What had the war created for women that made it hard for them to settle back into the roles of motherhood following the war?

    World War II had made it hard for women to settle back into their roles of motherhood because they had started to work jobs. Women also had to take over and act as the fatherly figure because the men were fighting in the war. After the war, most women did not get to keep their jobs, and was odd for them to only play the role of the mother in families.
