Briefly explain the Charles Darwin theory of evolution.

    Charles Darwin was a very famous naturalist that was born in England in 1809. A naturalist is someone who studies different kinds of plants and animals.

    From 1831 to 1836 he sailed around the world studying rocks, plants, and animals. In the year 1835 he arrived at a series of islands that are located in the Pacific Ocean called the Galapagos.

    While he was there, he looked at the changes found in animals of the same species. He came up with an idea that living things change and or adapt over time. He called this the evolution of species.

    His theory of evolution of species continues to inspire scientists and other's. Breakthroughs in science are still happening today because of his work.
