While it is true that both India and Vietnam suffered moments of social and political turmoil during their independence processes, with civilian casualties and great social consequences, there is a big difference between the two conflicts and the way they ended: India gained its independence through of non-violent methods, guided by leaders like Mahatma Ghandi, this nation led peaceful protests, strikes, symbolic demonstrations and all kinds of calls for attention to Britain but not including any type of aggression within them. Vietnam, on the other hand, faced its colonizer, France, through guerrilla warfare, in a conflict that extended from 1946 to 1954 and culminated in the independence of Vietnam and the subsequent division of the country, which led to the Vietnam War.
