War has a catastrophic effect on the health and well being of nations. Studies have shown that conflict situations cause more mortality and disability than any major disease. War destroys communities and families and often disrupts the development of the social and economic fabric of nations.
The effects of war are degrading the quality of life. The effects usually include destruction of land and property, displacement of citizens, even post-traumatic stress disorder of the people involved. While the financial and political effects largely depend on the specific war, often economies and government are negatively impacted, which then hurts the country's citizens.
