    Lincoln was obviously against the ideas of slavery, and was an advocate to the Union (or anti-slavery) troops, he believed that slavery should be declared unlawful, and therefore, thought that fighting the confederate troops in order to change the laws, was acceptable ... It was by necessary means that the war broke out, which Lincoln knew, and it forever changed the ideas and awful practice of slavery
