The correct answer is taxing corporations and the wealthy to redistribute income

When feeling the impacts of this process of artificialization of the economy, the United States was required to create an alternative model of economic development. Elected president in 1932, Franklin Delano Roosevelt had as its greatest challenge to rebuild the biggest economy of the time. Inspired by the principles of economist John Maynard Keynes, a group of government economists proposed the so-called New Deal.

This economic plan opened doors for the State to have a direct participation in the national economy. Among other actions, the New Deal established control over the issuance of monetary values, investment in basic sectors of industry and the creation of employment policies. In this way, the Roosevelt government sought a secure and gradual economic recovery.

In addition to controlling economic progress, the New Deal also implemented a series of actions that reconciled economic and social issues. By disseminating this type of action, the foundations of the so-called welfare state were created. Even with good results, the New Deal lost ground in the late 1970s, when the renewed perspectives of liberalism began to gain momentum.
