Jim Crows laws were basically state laws in the South that prevented African Americans from voting and later evolved into segregating blacks and whites from practically everything. I would say it would be answer choices B., C., and D. because they started about a decade before the 14th Amendment was ratified and even with the 14th, 15th, and 16th amendments in place, they continued into the late 1900's without punishment. Black codes were a "nickname" for the laws as well, especially after the 14th Amendment was passed because they couldn't be considered "laws" in print because of the federal government.

    The correct answer is: D.

The answer is not B because jim crow was passed before reconstruction. The answer is not C because the laws were after the 14th amendment. The answer is not A because the laws themselves weren't a cartoon they were just based off of it.
