I'm pretty sure you meant African Americans, but Brooker T. Washington founded Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. This school was for African Americans during the nineteenth century, and his writing and speeches advocated for blacks and their education and job stability. He did not get hands on, which he is criticised for. He never protested or did not one on one try to stop slavery in America but he made a difference by providing skills for African Americans that they would use in life to get a leverage and provide for their families despite their skin color.
