A plantation is a type of farm that specializes in cash crops. Like sugarcane, tobacco, and tea leaves. The difference between a plantation and a normal garden is that plantations are large, and specialize in a specific crop.

Depending how abundant or scare a resource was, the colony would need to adapt to survive. Successful colonies are able to secure all of what they need to live independently.
