    It's the civil right to vote : that is the right to choose their representatives. Specifically, this amendment prohibits discrimination based on gender and effectively establishes that women have the right to vote and cannot be discriminated because of their gender in their right to vote.

    This Amendment was approved by the Congress in 1919 and it was ratified in 1920.
