Pretend you are the editor of a new york newspaper in early 1788. outline an editorial supporting or opposing ratifiction of the constitution. Be sure to explain why you have taken your position and include facts supporting your opinion. refer to historcal incidents to support your arguments.

    You can pretend that you support it. It is a position of support because only a document such as the constitution can establish a strong government of unified states that can oppose the foreign powers that would exploit the colonies such as Britain. The articles of confederation failed to do this so drafting an entirely new constitution was necessary and it will prevent colonies from supporting British rule because they would all be united under a single cause. A constitution would also establish human rights to prevent things such as the Boston Massacre or putting soldiers into houses of civilians or similar things which was a part of the intolerable acts.
