    The changes during the unifaction of Japan in the late sixteenth century included restoring central authority, they imposed a hostage system on the Daimyo who were in the Tokugawa era, Rulers gained more control over foreign trade and its influence, a class formed by bankers and merchants began to rise, cities began to grow, peasant farmers endured incredibly difficult conditions, the class system became incredibly rigid, women's rights were incredibly restrictive, and Confucianism had a huge influence on the country.
