What was the United States' Indian policy after the American Revolution?

    The United States federal government was then granted mangement of trade and diplomatic relations that involved indians and their lands. The main goal of establishing the Trade and Industrial Act was to keep peace on the frontier and aviod war with the Natives.

    Federal Government was enshrined in the General Allotment (Dawes) Act 1887 which decreed that Indian Reservation land was to be divided into plots and allocated to individual Native Americans.
