How do the rioters first learn about death?

The rioters can be found in a tavern, drinking, as per usual. Then one night, they see a corpse of their friend being taken away and they find out that it was killed by Death, who is some kind of a secret thief. They recall that this Death has killed a lot of people and they decide to go after it.
