    Ronald Reagan was president of the United States of America from 1981 to 1989. He was the 40th President of the United States. Reagan, a Republican from California, took office as the president following a landslide victory over Democratic incumbent President Jimmy Carter in the 1980 presidential election.

    He was popularly called

    "Reaganomics" because of his policies concerning the economy of the United States of America. His started with implementation of supply-side economic policies which favours the reduction of marginal tax rates into law in the United State which is the largest reduction marginal tax rate in the history of America. Ronald Reagan Reagan sought to stimulate the economy with the large tax cut.

    However, the number of Americans below the poverty level did not decline at all. Also low income groups were affected by his policies.
