How is a state legislature similar to the U. S congress? How is it different?

    The legislative branch on the federal level is Congress and on the state level it is the state legislature. Both are bicameral, divided into two houses, the Senate and the House of Representatives on the federal level and similar upper and lower houses on the state level, although the names may vary on the state level.
