for civilons it was living in debt and in poverty. (unless you were top 20% before the war) everyone took an ecanomic hit.
vets had it diffrently, they were still poor but them and their familys had medical insureance and had garenteed food and asisted houseing. and some just got more cash if there were welthy before the war and can support them selfs. but this was just in america.
