What might happen if it was easier to amend the constitution

If it was easy to amend the Constitution there would definitely be a lot more amendments because people would want to make an amendment to try and solve every issue without thinking through the causes and effects of the action that the amendment would be enforcing. For example, if it was easy to pass an amendment one could be passed right now to say that doing drugs is legal and beneficial to society medically. However, later down the road effects from the entire United States doing drugs could include higher fatalities in driving accidents, more unemployed people, a shortening of the life expectancy, and more overdoses among the population. So although legalizing drugs may seem beneficial at first by giving people a "natural high" in the end it would not be beneficial and another amendment would have to be made to correct the mistake of the amendment that was already made.
