    Motives for Exploration For early explorers, one of the main motives for exploration was the desire to find new trade routes to Asia. By the 1400s, merchants and crusaders had brought many goods to Europe from Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Demand for these goods increased the desire for trade.

    For curiosity and see what the world has to offer, wealth, so they can find some fortune, fame, so they can have their name on an object that will be remembered for centuries, national pride from everyone and they could respect from when the time comes, and religion, to spread the word and see if any others could be interested in yours/other people's religion.
