What is the main task of the legislative branch? to hold criminal trials to create new laws to manage the courts to command the military

    The main task of the legislative branch is B, to create new laws. It doesn't hold criminal trials or manage the courts, and the executive branch commands the military although it needs Congress' approval to declare war.
