The correct answer is - they did not think the lifestyle of the 1920s was desirable. The term "lost generation" refers to a group of writers who were at their peak after the WWI, and came into this post-war world which was completely different to them. They couldn't see any good things in it, which is why they often wrote about how a dreadful era that was to be alive.
