To what extent did Islam constitute the world's first global civilization?

    Islam was first existent on the Arabian peninsula and spread to Europe, Asia, and Africa. They developed clans and towns and created long-distance trade. Islam also had the values of marriage and family. They changed from polytheism to monotheism. They created technology and political units.
