Describe Mexico's economic growth in recent years.

Mexico is among the fifteen largest economies in the world and is the second largest economy in Latin America. The country is, however, very dependent on the United States, its largest trading partner is destination of 80% of its exports. In 2018, growth was moderate with 2.2%. Slight growth of 2.5% and 2.7% is expected for 2019 and 2020 respectively (IMF). Coface estimated GDP growth of 2% in 2018 and expects a similar result for 2019. Economic growth was favored by domestic demand, strong household consumption and higher investment compared to 2018 (especially through the reconstruction of the areas of Mexico after strong earthquakes of 2017).
