What were the two main social classes in early Rome?

    The two social classes were Patricians and Plebeians. Patricians were Romans whose ancestry could be dated back to earlier Roman society. These were the higher classes of Romans, mostly politicians and the wealthy. Plebeians were comprised of ordinary citizens without power or wealth.
