    Totalitarianism is a political system in which the citizens of a particular country are governed by a person or a group of individuals, who have not been formally elected by the citizens. It is a form of dictatorship as the people are not allowed to come together and vote for who they want.

    In a totalitarian society, the right to speech is curtailed. The Government assumes full control of affairs. To briefly make reference to history, here are some Leaders who have ruled under the totalitarian system. They are; Adolf Hitler of Germany under Nazi rule, Mao Zedong of the People's Republic of China, The Kim Dynasty of North Korea and Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union.
