In what ways was the great Awakenning similar to the enlightenment

The great awakening is a religious and spiritual movement, however the enlightenment is scientific spirit and reasoning ... there are many who feel that it was a reaction to the thinking that developed as a result of Enlightenment and an attempt to turn people's attention back to church and god.
