The onset of imperialism started in this century. It was at this time when the trade of raw materials happened inside and outside the country. Slavery became a necessity to accomplish the needs in production. It became a key to having more products. Roads, communication, and transportation were improved to support economic changes.

The rich agricultural foundation and trade gave way to attain industrialization. With the control of agriculture and industries comes monopoly of both. Industries produced the needed arms for the military to protect the wealth of the few.
