Martha Jane Canary, also known as Calamity Jane was an American frontierswoman who fought against Native Americans during the late 19th century. She was involved in several military campaigns against Native Americans, working as an acquaintance of James Butler Hickok.
She was known for her recklessness and aggressiveness. However, she was also believed to be compassioned towards people who were sick or in a state of poverty.
