Who was al-Biladuri? Why do you think he wrote this document?

    He was a Muslim Historian. He composed it to depict the fight when the Muslim powers took control of Syria in 636 CE when they battled the Eastern Roman Empire (which included Greece) at the Battle of Yarmuk. He was a ninth century Muslim history specialist. One of the famous Middle Eastern history specialists of his age, he spent a large portion of his life in Baghdad and delighted in incredible impact at the court of the caliphal-Mutawakkil. He went in Syria and Iraq, assembling data for his real works.
