Americans were concerned on letting Missouri into the country because it wanted to be a slave statw. If this were to happen then there woulf be more slave states then free states making it imposable to ever end the instiution of slavery. The missouri compromise allowed for Missouri to enter the union as a slave state but anythig past the 30,36 parlell would be free territory.
