    Jonathan swift is a man from Ireland that was born on November 30th in year 1665. He was an Anglican. He wrote the an satirical essay titled the A Modest Proposal and published it in the year 1729.

    The essay was full of irony, humour and exaggeration. The reason why he wrote this proposal was because of the unbearable conditions he noticed in Ireland.

    The conditions he noticed were:

    1. People could no longer pay their rent

    2. Parents could no longer feed their children and this resulted in children begging on the streets

    The Modest Proposal had the following advantages in it:
