Both because invaders from outside wanted the land and overgrazing the land. And the inside because there were people inside Ghana that attacked. So to answer the question it was both the people of Ghana and outsiders. Ghana because they lost all of their gold and salt ... Ghanaians have numerous jobs from low to high positions. The majority continue the trade or skills of their forefathers, whether that is farming cocoa in in the northern territories.
