Alongside Paul Revere, he made the iconic Midnight Ride which alerted the colonial minutemen in Massachusetts of the approach of British troops the night of April 18th, 1775 (before the Battles of Lexington and Concord). Unlike Revere, he was not captured by the British, yet his role has faded into obscurity over the years.
