You travel to another city and rent a car at the airport using your credit card. Then you check into your hotel using the same card. Since both merchants have no way to know what your final bill will be, they do not charge your card that day. But in the evening, you go to dinner at a restaurant, and when you use the same card to pay the bill, you are told that they cannot accept your card. What has probably happened? A. Someone has stolen your card number.

B. Your most recent payment has not reached the issuer.

C. Your card has been "blocked" by both the rental company and the hotel.

D. The restaurant only accepts debit cards.
