    a. Tomb → Mastaba → Stepped Pyramid → Bent Pyramid → True Pyramid.

    Explanation:

The evolution of the pyramids developed as following:

Tomb: elite Egypcian members started to bury their dead in coffins made of wood and clay, adding then a wooden roof and covering it with mud bricks. Mastaba: these tombs were implemented to bury officials of elite in the Old Kingdom of Egypt. It took really deep digging to create the burial chambers, having to go deeper than the building's base. Stepped Pyramid: This was also known as the Stepped Pyramid of Djoser and in fact was originally intended to be another mastaba in Saqqara. It took 6 times to enlarge it in 6 different levels. Bent Pyramid: The first structure which almost took the exact shape of a pyramid. There is no certainty about why it had such shape, some say it was a miscalculation and others say it was because the Egyptians had to rush its completion. True Pyramid: This is the Great Pyramid of Giza, which took from ten to twenty years to be completed and was the tallest structure made by man for almost 4,000 years.
