The result of Columbus is the first meeting with Native American in the West Indies important because it had a serious far-reaching impact on native Americans.

Columbus was just one of many explorers sponsored by European monarchs in the 1400's who has an importance in trying to find a better, cheaper, faster route to Asia than their neighbors, in order to get an edge on the lucrative trade goods from the East Indies.
