    FALSE.

All expeditions were important back then. Zebulon Pike was a U. S army officer and explorer born in 1779. After 'Louisiana Purchase', when America bought a vast territory from France, he was in charge of exploring that land. He wasn't very successful due to the cold weather (that they were not prepared for), a bad map, and him getting lost and being captured by the Spanish. However, Zebulon's expedition turned out to be important since he was the first one to explore the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and wrote a book about his findings.
