Briefly explain another implication of this debate in the mid-18th century colonies beyond the immediate question of the governance of colleges

    According to the debate, it is implied that the colleges should have self-governance according to their rules and beliefs and that there should be no involving or meddling in it because they are based around a system that the persons in charge know best about. The state should not mess with colleges thus.
