Happiness is an elusive term, because it means something different for every person. Thomas Jefferson tells us that people have a right to the pursuit of happiness. This means that people should be able to identify whatever it is that makes them happy, and then try to achieve it by the means available to them. As long as this goal is not illegal, then the government should not be able to interfere with the person's quest to obtain whatever makes him truly happy.
